# OchePot

> OchePot is a darts betting escrow platform. Players create head-to-head wagers with friends on darts matches, deposit USDC stablecoins into smart contract escrow on the Base blockchain (an Ethereum Layer 2 network), and the winner receives instant payout when the result is confirmed. OchePot eliminates the trust problem in friendly darts wagers by replacing handshakes and IOUs with verifiable on-chain escrow.

## About OchePot

OchePot was built for darts players who want to put real stakes on their matches without the hassle of collecting money, trusting opponents to pay, or dealing with banks. The name "Oche" comes from darts -- the oche is the line you stand behind when throwing -- and "Pot" refers to the prize pool.

The platform handles the entire lifecycle of a friendly darts wager:

1. A player creates a bet by choosing a darts format (501, 301, Cricket, Around the World, or custom), setting a USDC amount, and describing the terms.
2. An opponent accepts the bet. Both sides deposit their USDC stake into a smart contract escrow on Base.
3. When the game is played and finished, both players confirm the result. The smart contract releases the total pot to the winner instantly.

No banks, no waiting periods, no chargebacks, no middlemen.

### Supported Games

OchePot currently supports darts in all major formats:

- **501:** The classic darts format. Double out to finish.
- **301:** Shorter format, often double in double out.
- **Cricket:** Close numbers and score points. Strategic format.
- **Around the World:** Hit numbers 1-20 in sequence.
- **Custom:** Any darts format or variation that two players agree on.

### Bet Types

- **Head-to-Head (H2H):** A direct wager between two players. One creates the bet, the other accepts it.
- **Observer Mode:** A bet where a neutral third party (observer) confirms the result. Useful for group settings or leagues.

### Bet Lifecycle

1. **Pending:** The bet has been created but the opponent has not yet accepted/deposited.
2. **Active:** Both sides have deposited USDC. The game is underway.
3. **Resolved:** The result has been confirmed and funds have been released to the winner.
4. **Cancelled:** The bet was cancelled before both sides deposited.
5. **Disputed:** One or both sides contest the result. Dispute resolution process initiated.

## Groups

Players can create or join groups to organize recurring darts nights, leagues, or tournaments. Groups can be:

- **Private:** Join by invite code only. Good for weekly darts nights with friends.
- **Public:** Open for anyone to find and join. Good for community leagues.

Each group has its own leaderboard, activity feed, and bet history.

## Stats and Leaderboards

OchePot tracks comprehensive statistics for every player:

- Total bets placed
- Total wins
- Win rate (percentage)
- Total USDC wagered
- Total USDC won
- Current win/loss streaks

Leaderboards rank players within their groups and globally.

- **Free to join.** No subscription fees, no monthly charges.
- Takes 30 seconds to create an account.
- Transaction fees (if any) are limited to blockchain gas fees on Base, which are typically fractions of a cent.

## Security and Trust

- USDC is held in a smart contract on Base. Neither player can access the funds until the bet is settled.
- Base is an Ethereum Layer 2 built by Coinbase, providing low-cost, fast, and secure transactions.
- USDC is a fully backed stablecoin issued by Circle, pegged 1:1 to the US Dollar.
- Privy authentication provides enterprise-grade security with familiar login methods.

OchePot provides a REST API built with Django REST Framework. The API supports:

Native mobile apps for iOS and Android are in development using React Native with Expo. They will provide the full OchePot experience including:
